A 6L City Sling With a Thoughtful Layout

The RE:WORK Toshi Sling 6L V2 is a compact travel sling built by a small, two-sibling brand that clearly studied the market before designing it. "Toshi" means "city" in Japanese, and this is pitched as a do-it-all city sling. After a month of daily use and a range of pack-outs, it holds up well as a capable travel companion with a few areas still open for refinement.

Build and Materials

The Toshi 6L V2 is the second iteration of the design, and the material choices are solid for its class.

• Exterior: 480D 100% nylon, made in Vietnam
• Interior lining: 210D PU-coated ripstop nylon with a grid pattern
• Zippers: YKK, in two sizes (a larger #8 and a smaller #5)
• Buckles: Vujin (Wu Jin) hardware, which is uncommon on slings
• Hardware extras: Key leash with an aluminum key clip, gatekeepers, and a top handle

The 480D nylon is a decent, durable outer fabric, and the 210D lining is fairly standard across brands in this segment. The lining is thin enough that a contrasting interior color helps you spot items inside.

If there's a wishlist, it would be AquaGuard zippers on the exposed areas and the option to swap in your own zipper pulls. The sling currently uses Hypalon pulls, which is a matter of personal taste.

Per the brand, it can accommodate an iPad 11, an iPad Mini, a Nintendo Switch, e-readers, and similar devices. In testing, the Switch and iPad Mini both fit comfortably in the padded tech pocket.

Organization

Organization is where this sling stands out. It's divided across a front pocket, a main compartment, and a back pocket, with a genuinely well-considered internal layout.

Front Pocket

• A loop up top with a paracord pull stitched between two mesh pockets
• Air Mesh-style mesh that feels premium
• A pleated section that ties into the bottom expansion
• Latch points underneath for external carry, which hook at the bottom on both sides and close magnetically
• A separate small quick-access pocket that fits a phone (an iPhone 17 Pro Max closed easily)

This is a natural home for meds, a nose inhaler, alcohol wipes, and charging cables you want within reach on a plane.

Main Compartment

• A key leash and an additional loop, with the leash relocatable to another pocket
• Two latch points inside
• A padded tech pocket with piping at the base and connected pads
• A standout pocket arrangement: front pockets are half-height while the back pockets run full-length, and the pen loop follows the same alignment

That half-front, full-back layout makes it easy to stack items intelligently: over-ear headphones on one side, a power bank in the full-length pocket, a gaming console and travel accessories behind, plus a full-length pen pocket for a charging cable.

Back Pocket

The back pocket handles a passport and wallet snugly. Worth noting: once the front and main compartments are loaded, space in the back compartment gets tight, so plan your pack-out accordingly.

Comfort and Carry

The strap system is well padded and cushioned, with a maximum length of about 51 inches. The Vujin buckles are a distinctive touch, and the gatekeepers are cleanly aligned, sitting up top when the sling is worn.

Two attachment points sit on each side of the sling, plus a top handle, giving flexibility similar to other slings in this category. When fully packed with a 4-inch expansion, the bag can lean to one side depending on how bulky items like over-ear headphones are positioned, so balancing the load matters. Even so, the sling stands up on its own and holds its shape well.

A couple of comfort and design notes for future versions:

• Slightly more padding on the strap would be welcome, especially if positioning it to double as a luggage pass-through
• The roughly 4-inch area dedicated to the strap-management feature could potentially become a stowable pocket for external carry of a water bottle or jacket

Who It's For

This sling suits travelers who want a compact 6L carry that can flex from minimalist to fully loaded. Swap two items for a small noise-canceling headset and it becomes a lean everyday carry; bring everything back and it handles a full slate of travel accessories, tech, and documents.

It's a strong fit for anyone who values organized, purpose-built pockets and premium hardware. With this being only the second version, there's clear room to grow, but the foundation is a well-researched, genuinely usable travel sling.
